You and the Role: As a Financial Analyst, you’ll report to the Corporate Treasurer and collaborate closely with other members of the Treasury team. You’ll gain invaluable commercial insight, connect with various departments, and contribute to our banking relationships. Following the acquisition of Saipem’s land business, we’re now focused on strategic growth and refining our Treasury operations, including areas such as FX analysis.

 

The role requires an accountancy background and a varied skillset, however, previous Treasury experience is not essential as support and training will be provided.

 

You will bring the following experience or skills:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant ready to embrace new challenges.
  • Proficient in Excel, keen to put this to use on financial modelling and data mining.
  • Eager to learn and utilize internal systems like SAP & Tm5.
  • Enjoys analyzing complex data, such as foreign exchange exposures.
  • Good communicator, prepared to engage with internal stakeholders at all levels and external banking stakeholders.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing within a team setting.
  • Open to change and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented, with a broad commercial outlook and thoughtful decision-making approach.
  • Knowledgeable about tax, accounting, and treasury interactions.
  • Financial and numerical acumen, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities: With support and training from other members of Treasury, the Financial Analyst will gain exposure to:

 

Refinancing:

  • Assisting with any future refinancing - liaison with banks, advisors, and lawyers.

FX Analysis and Hedging Instruments:

  • Assisting with monitoring the group’s FX position across a wide range of currencies to mitigate risk. Particular attention to be paid to balance sheet and cash positions.
  • Assisting with reviewing currency forecasts and flagging any high-risk areas to the Corporate Treasurer.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders to obtain market analysis on topical areas.
  • Producing presentations for any FX / hedge proposals to be communicated at the Treasury Management Committee.

Development of Treasury Management System:

  • Mastering our Treasury management cloud-based system (Tm5) and assisting with the review of Tm5 for any potential areas that are either under-utilized or not activated.

Guarantees:

  • Participating in the Guarantees team with overall ownership for monitoring requests in respect of new issuances, answering any queries, and processing guarantee requests through to issuance.
  • Maintaining guarantees summary file for presentation at biweekly cash calls.
  • Bank communication, management of stakeholder expectations, and some commercial acumen and escalation of urgent items on a timely basis.

Mergers & Acquisitions / Investment Opportunities / Strategic Initiatives:

  • Assisting the Corporate Treasurer with due diligence on any specific Treasury-related areas for any new opportunities as and when they arise e.g., bank accounts, guarantees, cash repatriation, etc.

Project Work Including Saipem Integration:

  • Assisting the Corporate Treasurer with any ongoing project work arising from a high level of activity on refinancing and Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Assisting the Corporate Treasurer with progressing and closing out the Saipem integration.
  • Assisting to ensure all bank accounts will require to be open, operational, and policy compliant.
  • Assisting to ensure all guarantees will are successfully transferred across to KCA Deutag.
  • Collaborating with the Tax Team to ensure all cash repatriation and funding routes require to be well established.

Review of Operational Bankers:

  • Providing analysis and review of existing operational banking structure.
  • Considering enhancements to existing products.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders to develop proposals for any potential migrations.
  • Assisting Corporate Treasurer with the presentation of any proposal summaries and any subsequent planning should migration be approved.

Treasury Management Committee (TMC):

  • Participating on the TMC where Treasury-related decisions are made to ensure that these are scheduled regularly, and that any action points are followed through.

Interest Rate Management and Derivatives:

  • Review and monitoring of interest rates applicable across the group and exploring any potential hedging opportunities.

Overseas Cash:

  • Assisting with monitoring of overseas cash levels.
  • Regular follow-ups to ensure compliance with policy.
