Key details about the role and the candidate

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for running several payrolls (International & UK) to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, ensuring all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to. 

Attendance will be required in the Aberdeen office with the opportunity to work from home for 50% of working hours.

 

You and the role

KCA Deutag is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Payroll Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting and challenging role where you will be responsible for a wide range of payroll activities, varying from monthly cyclical tasks to gathering data for annual reporting, collating information for audits, and participating in system testing.

You would be part of a great payroll team within the HR Service Centre, where there is plenty of opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in the Service Centre and wider HR teams. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team to resolve problems and collaborate to solve problems.

 

Primary responsibilities 

  • Input payroll data accurately to the system including but not exclusively: Tax Codes, Student Loans, Court Orders, Training, Expenses, Advances, Adjustments, Pensions, Childcare vouchers etc.
  • Review and check audit reports
  • Review all absences in payroll to ensure they comply with statutory and company rules
  • Review and send payroll reports for approval
  • Produce and send payment files for payment
  • Process the Posting to Finance
  • Prepare and send P45s to leavers
  • Ensure compliance of Pension Auto Enrolment
  • Ensure compliance of National Minimum Wage
  • Raise payment requests as required
  • Assist with any payroll projects and testing as required
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees, HR and external agencies
  • Access, share and manage personal information relating to employees and colleagues in line with company and legal requirements regarding data protection and confidentiality
  • Keep up to date with UK legislation
  • Assist with yearend processes
  • Keep the P11D and PSA data up to date throughout the year utilising multiple sources
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy

 

Experience

  • Previous payroll experience 
  • SAP Payroll knowledge advantageous but not essential
  • Working with personal information relating to employees and colleagues in line with company and legal requirements regarding data protection and confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of UK PAYE legislation and obligations

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and forward plan
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work too hard deadlines to meet payroll requirements
  • Ability to work with personal information relating to employees and colleagues in line with company and legal requirements regarding data protection and confidentiality

 

Minimum qualifications

  • Ideally a payroll qualification e.g. CIPP, although relevant experience more important than academic qualifications
