Key details about the role and the candidate

The Rig Manager is primarily responsible for using independent judgment and discretion in supervising and coordinating safe activities of team members engaged in drilling oil and gas wells.

 

Primary responsibilities 

  • Responsible for verifying and auditing use and adherence to core HSE Processes including but not limited to: C.O.A.C.H, Lifebelts, written safe work procedures, POMS
  • Support personnel during non-routine tasks and major repair activities by assisting with pre-job planning and safety meetings, prior to the start of operations
  • Facilitates on-boarding, pre-tour, pre-job, and weekly safety meetings, participating in hazardous operations as a safety observer and promoting the use of H&P’s Actively C.A.R.E. programs
  • Support injury case management and serves as a liaison with occupational and emergency medical services for employees that sustain work related injuries or illnesses to include escort for initial examination all follow-up treatments
  • Maintains all occupational and emergency medical services’ documents in accordance with company policies and Saudi legislation
  • Assist in completing required HSE reporting processes including but not limited to inspections, audits, negative events, good catches, and the rewards & recognition reports
  • Actively facilitate and observe the use of H&P’s Pre-Job Planning tools
  • Participate in C.O.A.C.H. conversations, using the CAR and CAR/AR model
  • Assist all H&P employees through mentoring and coaching, providing additional support to New to Position and Short Service Employees
  • Manage third party trainings as per Aramco requirement to keep the training matrix green.
  • Serves as a liaison with Aramco Compliance, Aramco HSE and Aramco occupational health during Audits and inspections.
  • Uses independent judgment and discretion to investigate accidents/injuries and submit reports to Operations Manager; Assists the lead investigator as needed on SIF investigations; participates in tap root investigations
  • Track and Encourage crew to complete the pending Workday trainings as assigned.
  • Facilitate Weekly RSMT’s at Main Camp.
  • Manage third party sub contractor’s related to H2S equipment, Rig Movers, Catering etc.
  • Conduct Audits on Rig Move, LOTO etc.
  • Work with Rig Managers assigning mentors to the SSE’s.
  • Manage third party equipment inspections, Emission test etc.
  • Submit monthly reports as required.

Minimum qualifications – essential

  • Proven experience in drilling and workover operations or a demonstrated progression of relevant assignments
