Rig Optimisation Engineer

Who We Are Looking For: 

A Rig Optimisation Engineer, responsible for identifying opportunities and developing proposals to improve the operational efficiency of the contracted platforms in the Caspian region.

Job Title: Rig Optimisation Engineer (Residential)

Location: Base Office, Baku, Azerbaijan

Contract: Permanent

 Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the improvement of rig efficiency whilst applying Company safety regulations.
• Coordinating and prioritizing a program of Operational improvements.
• Interfacing with key operations personnel onshore and offshore to identify opportunities for improving rig efficiency.
• Supervises Performance Coaches, Technical Translators.
• Supports Operations and offshore teams with technical queries and guidance.
• Monitor EDRS reports to ensure accuracy of KPI reporting.
• Liaise with offshore Performance Champions to ensure that KPI tracking is valid.
• Identify and promote opportunities for improvement and changes in equipment, systems or procedures.
• Hold coaching / training sessions onshore or offshore on elements of performance reporting.
• Manage revisions to Work Guidelines to achieve alignment and incorporate best practice across assets.
• Issue monthly / quarterly / annual progress reports on ongoing Rig Optimisation initiatives and projects to all relevant parties.
• Facilitate weekly performance calls and meetings to review performance and discuss upcoming activities.
• Hold coaching / training sessions onshore or offshore on elements of performance reporting.
• Develop the Performance Coach so they are part of the performance / continuous improvement process.
• Manage revisions to Work Guidelines to achieve alignment and incorporate best practice across assets.
• Issue weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual progress reports relating to Rig Optimisation initiatives and projects to all relevant parties.
• Liaise with other KCA DEUTAG Drilling Group‘s Operation and Performance department and ensure Lesson Learned are shared and understood.
• Provide support to other KCA DEUTAG Drilling Group‘s Operation and Performance department and corporate headquarters when asked for information or feedback on KCA DEUTAG Drilling Group initiatives or system upgrades.
• Maintain detailed internal records of activities for handover to back to back.
• Maintain a high level of report writing to propose and justify recommendations.
• Familiarisation with Company Systems and Work Guidelines processes for changes and modifications.
• Supervise the translation of Work Guidelines into Azerbaijani.
• Develop the KCA DEUTAG +veDrill™ Enhance system. Manage to roll out and use of the system and feedback results to KCA DEUTAG Drilling Group‘s Operation and Performance team.

 Required Certification:

• Recognised engineering qualification / trade qualification papers
• IWCF Level 4 Well Control Certificate (Surface)

Required Experience:

• Significant experience working in the drilling industry.
• Rig site experience in supervisory position.
• Coaching experience.
